I realize this video is several years old now but there are things he's saying that make no sense to me. 1) He managed to find an apartment in New York of all places for only $800 a month?? Where does he live, in a roach motel? No way in the world is renting that cheap in New York of all places. 2) How could he possibly get by if every dollar he makes is fully accounted for each month? What about health care and incidental expenses?

For folks who might be coming across this video a few years later (like me). Average salary has increased for Vets. AVMA has average salary for new grads this year between 95k-115k. Salary will vary with kind of medicine you're getting into (small animal GP tends to make pretty solid and large animal a little less so depending on location so highly recommend looking into what salaries look like with the critters you are interested in) Just didn't want the prospective vets out there to be as disheartened. The industry has a lot of changing to do but it has gotten better.

Being a DP today is not the same thing as it was in the 70's where a DP had to know if a 2 stop underexposure would still expose on 100 ASA film. Today they just look at a monitor. Back then they had to know it.

So in other words, you depend on your boyfriend to live and you push off paying loans as long as possible. You're going to crash. You break up with your boyfriend, you crash. You go a couple months without work, you crash. Student loans you shouldnt even have come due, you crash. How exactly are you supposed to be an inspiration and a success story? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass but watching through the other videos its clear that theres a pattern of poor decisions, lack of planning and common sense, naivety, and ambition, drive, and work ethic. You shouldn't be accepting of these circumstances, and you need to change it. Gigs in this field should be regular, with no breaks, and something's wrong if you're having off months. Also, $200 a month on entertainment should not exist with your financials. Your apartment is also expensive as shit. Once again, this is not a success story to be inspired by, this is a tragedy

  • @minerock16

Ok, am I crazy or is this not a success story. She's how many K in debt for a fucking masters in a field where most dont even have associates? And how long did all this take exactly? Massive waste of time and money for a fucking internship. If she'd spent a fraction of this time and money on buying some equipment and actually learning doing the work she would've been in the same place she is now for a fraction of the cost. No debt, and it wouldve taken 2 years MAX. She says no one wantsd to touch her after getting her first degree, that's because she spent years changing majors and getting a worthless, generic degree that only barely encompasses her field and she had absolutely no experience to show for it, not the bs she says it was. Thats called cope, or rationalization. And after spending a load of time bartending and gwtting no work in her field instead of actually making an effort to take out another loan (she already did it for school once) and buying equipment to start off on her own a bit, she decides to fucking take out another loan and go for a fucking MASTERS! For Christs sake lady, education is not the problem here. You were just pissing away massive amounts of money and time with nothing to show for it. Thats insane, and sadly all to common with my generation. And all that just to be making, maybe, $40k a year, maybe more, maybe less. It will take her decades to pay off her student loans, maybe she never will. This is insanity, and a tragedy, not a sucess story. I have nothing against people chasing dreams as I'm trying to do the exact same thing here, but I'm trying to go about this in a far smarter and more efficient way, one that won't absolutely cripple me financially and leave me old and broke.

Did song service once and I indirectly preach. We stream our headquarters service so it’s my task to stream them. A music school called me and said they have a work program. Their program is very expensive so he is talking about a an employment program I guess like an apprenticeship. Tomorrow I’ll hear the guy out.
